What We Offer

The reading block for our scholars is uniquely designed to close hidden foundational gaps while accelerating them into high-level academic comprehension. What sets our microschool apart is our commitment to a highly diagnostic, systematic approach rooted entirely in the Science of Reading.

Four Core Pillars

  • In standard settings, older scholars who still struggle with reading are often taught to "cope" by guessing unknown words using context clues. We don't teach workarounds. For scholars who have foundational gaps, we provide intensive, multi-sensory intervention. We explicitly rebuild the mechanics of decoding, actively rewiring how their brain processes print so they can read accurately and fluently. (Think Orton-Gillingham)

  • For spelling and vocabulary development, our scholars engage in advanced morphological study. We teach them the architecture of the English language—how to break down complex, multisyllabic words using prefixes, suffixes, and Greek and Latin roots. This is the secret to unlocking the heavy, advanced science and history vocabulary they will increasingly encounter as their coursework deepens.

  • Many programs ask older learners to write lengthy essays before they have mastered the mechanics of a perfect sentence. We teach writing through a highly structured, logic-based approach. Scholars learn how to build complex sentences using advanced grammar rules, and they apply this writing directly to the literature we study. Grammar isn't isolated "busywork"; it is a tool we use to deepen reading comprehension.

  • In a traditional setting, teachers are forced to move on to the next unit based on a calendar, regardless of who is left behind. Our core reading block is built around mastery, not pacing. Because of our unique structure, our daily schedule seamlessly integrates our advanced, whole-group comprehension work with our 1:1 intervention pull-outs. Scholars receive exactly the level of instruction they need, and no one slips through the cracks.

Ultimately, we aren't just assigning books and hoping they understand them. We are actively rewiring how they process language, spelling, and writing so they can step into higher-level academics with absolute confidence.
